Questions About Our Canal Walks?
Find answers to what you'd like to know about guided towpath strolls along Dublin's Grand Canal
We keep things leisurely — most walks cover 2 to 3 kilometres over about 1.5 to 2 hours, with built-in rest stops so you can catch your breath and take in the views. Our guides adjust the pace based on the group, and there's absolutely no pressure to keep up.
We do ask that you book ahead so we know numbers and can make sure we've got enough guides and refreshments sorted. You can book online or give us a ring, and if you need to cancel, just let us know within 24 hours.
A bit of drizzle won't stop us — the canal's lovely in any weather. That said, if there's heavy rain or dangerous conditions forecast, we'll reschedule your walk to another date at no extra cost.
Most of the Portobello to Inchicore section is fairly flat and well-maintained, though there are some uneven patches and a few gentle slopes. If you're concerned about accessibility, drop us a line before booking and we can chat through the specific route or suggest a section that works better for you.
Our guides are proper locals who know the stories — you'll hear about the Georgian architecture in Portobello, the Guinness Brewery's influence on Inchicore, and the industrial heritage of the canal itself. History's woven into every step, but it's all relaxed and conversational, not a lecture.
Pricing varies depending on group size and which walk you choose. Get in touch with us and we'll give you a clear quote — no hidden extras. We also offer discounts for regular participants and group bookings.
